Hi Annabeth! (Or do you like to be called Anna? You signed your last comment "Anna" and the sidebar here at your blog says "Anna Leigh" so I was wondering...:)

Thanks for your sweet comment! :) I wish I could watch your 9/11 video, but we only have dial-up so we have to go to the library to watch videos...

To answer your question about my family's thoughts regarding Sarah Palin:

Politically, I think she was a brilliant addition to tone down McCain's liberal views and sway us evangelicals that want a very pro-life candidate. Biblically, I think she would find more joy and fulfillment at home with her family. And, with a precious little down syndrome baby and a 17 year old daughter that obviously needs some direction, it's so sad that she would choose her job over her family!

But we're still glad that she's bringing a more conservative voice to the McCain ticket. We aren't necessarily voting FOR McCain, we're just voting AGAINST Obama. :)

How about you and your family-- What do you think of her?

Are your grandparents settled in to the addition now?

Mereidith, I like to be called Anna, but my middle name is Leigh that's way my name on the sidebar is Anna Leigh.

I agree with your thoughts about Sarah Palin. Our family also doesn't want Obama as president. I think She was a very smart pick for VP, and she is a really good speaker.

Wow...I can't believe it's been seven years. And yet, personally, that seven years seems like a very long time ago...funny how that works.

Natalie, I know what you mean. Matthew was just 3 months old when 9/11 happened and we still had our farm. So it does seem like it was a really long time ago.

    Hello again Anna! :)

...So I must ask then, if you prefer to be called Anna and your middle name is Leigh, where did Annabeth come from?? I think it's very pretty. :)

I keep meaning to tell you that a couple of weeks ago our family watched "The League of Grateful Sons" for the first time and I thought it was so cool that your grandfather is interviewed on the DVD. I remembered you said he was one of the veterans that was at the Memorial Day Celebration at the Browns' farm, but I didn't know who he was until we watched the DVD. What an amazing opportunity for your dad and brothers to get to go with him back to Iwo Jima. You must be so proud of your family's legacy! After we read the book Kelly Brown/Bradrick wrote after going on that trip, we got together with our grandfather and videoed him telling us about his childhood, his war memories (he fought in Vietnam), and his life since the war, so we could always remember his legacy and pass it on to our other cousins and one day our children... It was such a valuable experience for my brothers and me and it gave us such a great appreciation for our family's history.

Anyways, I didn't mean to be rambling on... I already wrote a long enough comment above. :) Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Anna!

Meredith, My full name is Annabeth Leigh H. Thats where the Beth comes from. Thanks, I think it's pretty to. I'm glad you like the movie. Yes! We are very of our family's legacy! My dad and brother had a blast on the trip. One of my brothers had a whole bag of black sand from the beaches of Iwo Jima! He had fun explain what it was to all the airport security!:)My Grandfather wrote a book, have you happened to read it?

I love reading everyone of your comments, as long as then might be!
My weekend has been good! How about yours?

    Anna,

I'm glad you don't mind the long comments.

My baby sister's full name is Sheridan Anna Claire, so we like long names too. After four boys in a row, my mom wanted to give her a real girly name. :)

My weekend has been great... Kind of busy, but the farm always keeps us really busy.

I bet getting black sand through airport security was an interesting task! :) No, I didn't know your grandfather wrote a book. What is it called?

    Have a great Monday!
