A Totally Random Post. :)

For the past couple of minutes I have been looking at shoes online.

I kinda have a shoes fetish :)
But I do need to get some more tennis shoes, the pair that I have are falling apart. I mean they are literately falling apart. There are holes in the soles on both shoes.... the shoelaces are in pieces..... ummmm you get the point.
I really want to get a pair of Converse after William showed me how cool they were. (William has 5 pairs...I think) The funny thing is.... Converse were around when I was little and my Grandmother always wanted me to get a pair. Once a year for my Birthday, she would take me shoe shopping. I'm not sure why I didn't like them. Maybe my Grandmother wanted me to get a color I didn't like.

Sooo, while I was looking at tennis shoes online....I had to go look at the sandals especially when there is a category called Bright Colors. I told you.... I have a shoe fetish. :)
I found the coolest shoes. I would never buy them because I'm not sure that I have anything that matches, and oh I don't spend 100.00 on a pair of shoes. :) Here is a picture.

And while I'm at it here are some converse that I like. Ummm well... here is one pair that I like.... American Idol is on.....so I'm off to watch that.

A rather large post on our trip, part deux

So remember at the start of my last post I said we had "enough warm clothes for an expedition to Antarctica"? Well this was not far from the truth. The funny thing was, although the week before we came had been quite cold, the whole time we were there we had experienced pretty mild weather. That is, until the day of our departure, Thursday. Thursday morning I woke up and was greeted by this view out the window near my bed:

It started snowing that morning and kept right on snowing for almost the whole day! We had become snowed in!

Sarah and Olivia waiting to give the snow plow guys hot coffee and cookies, Judah is manning the camcorder.

Judah shoveling the road

The following is a video shot by Judah of Sarah and Olivia being, well, excited about the snow or something :p

More pictures of the snow...

Snow fight! Olivia and Sarah went out to shovel the walk, except Olivia had an ulterior motive. As soon as Sarah had her back turned away, Liv, with her shovel full of snow clobbered poor Sarah.

Sarah tries to fight back

Notice Sarah's sweatshirt? What was green several seconds before is now almost all white.

Sadly the snow stopped Thursday night and the road crews were able to get the roads clear enough for us to head home. Seeing a significant amount of snow made me really wish we got some where we live. One more snow picture:

A rather large post on our trip

Last Sunday around 6am, Sarah and I climbed into my car to depart on our journey to NY to visit friends. We had our lunch, directions, enough warm clothes for an expedition to Antarctica and 160+ hours of Adventures in Odyssey. When we left it was still dark outside and as we drove we were greeted by a wonderful sunrise:

We drove and drove through VA, drove through WV, drove through MD, drove and drove and drove and drove through PA, before we finally arrived in NY and just for good measure we drove in NY for a while as well. 660+ miles, 10 hours 41 minutes, two gas stops, and a bathroom stop later, we had arrived. It is actually a pretty easy drive, you just put it on cruise control and well, cruise.

On our last trip to NY, Sarah had planned to make a basket with Anja, who teaches basket making classes. Unfortunately since our last trip was cut short she was unable to be in the class. This trip Anja was able to show Sarah how to make a basket and Sarah was able to finish it before we left. :)

On Wednesday we headed into town for a day of Christmas shopping:

Me, not quite sure about the too small hat I am wearing

Sarah and Olivia wearing some not quite normal hats

The following picture needs a bit of an explanation. Wednesday night, Mrs. B headed outside to put something in their compost pile. She comes back in talking about a possum that was out at the compost pile. As soon as Anja heard that she decided it was time for some shooting, the .22 Hornet was not there but the Mini-14 was, so she and Judah headed outside intent on the death of the evil possum. The flashlight Judah had was not powerful enough so after a short delay while I got them a Mag-light from my car, Anja and Judah returned to the compost pile. One shot was heard, and Mrs. B said something to the extent of that is the sound of something dying. Anja and Judah returned except the possum was not dead! Anja had hit it, but it was not a fatal blow and the gun had then gotten jammed. After getting the gun back in working order, Anja and Judah headed back outside to finish off the varmint. This time when they returned the possum was dead and a picture was in order:

Judah, Mr. B, and Anja after a successful kill

Our plan had been to come back Thursday morning, because Sarah had some violin students to teach but the weather had other plans and when we awoke Thursday morning we were greeting by glorious snow. I will post about that tomorrow :)

Baking and Snow!!

Right before the buckeyes go in the freezer.
My beautiful buckeyes all ready to eat!!
All my buckeyes in there containers.

Sesame Street chocolates!!
Hearts and bear Chocolates!

Also, William and Sarah did not leave the B's house this morning, because they got snowed in!! They brought William's little car, that can't drive through the snow. When MR. B. called us they were outside in shorts and t shirts making snow angles! Romulus NY has closed all the schools, which they almost NEVER do, because of the snow !! Hopefully they will be home by Sunday!!
